PREPAREDNESS OBJECTIVES 


Objectives were developed in 2009 and are reviewed annually.

  • Maintain a global approach to healthcare preparedness that includes all partners, both healthcare and others in an All Hazards, team based approach.

  • Promote a proactive approach to preparedness and emergency response including public, private and non-governmental organizations.

  • Develop a heightened awareness of potential threats and prepare preemptive responses so as to mitigate impact on our Region and the State.

  • Promote training and exercising at the regional level

  • Identify and capitalize on regional strengths.

  • Collect data on maximum patient capacity and surge capacity.

  • Incorporate the concepts of MEMS and NIMS into all aspects of partner training and exercises.


RESPONSE OBJECTIVES


Objectives were developed in 2009 and are reviewed annually.

  • Train partners in the concept and application of situational awareness through the timely exchange of critical information with the Regional office, Office of Public Health Preparedness, MIOC and other key players.

  • Provide resource support to coalition members through the mutual aid process.

  • Facilitate the coordination of incident response actions for members via the Region 3 Medical Coordination Center

  • Promote and adhere to risk-based methodologies that ensure the safety of the public, emergency responders, and support personnel.
